John Schneider (Musician/Actor)

In My Vinyl Offering, we get up close and personal with your favorite musicians and friends to find out the most cherished parts of their record, CD or tape collection. This time around we feature the vinyl collection of musician, actor and filmmaker John Schneider.

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes’ Journey to the Center of Your Mind. It was a 45 and I think it cost $.49 at Caldor in Mount Kisco, New York.

The record that made me want to make music was…

Help by the Beatles. I remember movies of them being chased by women all throughout and I thought that was a pretty good deal!

The record I’ve played more than any other is…

Operator by Jim Croce – truly one of the greatest songs of all time!

The record that always make me feel good is…

Easy by Lionel Richie. Takes me right back to high school and the glorious summer of 1976.

The record I turn to when I’m feeling down is…

Actually one of our brand new records called Dr. Blind! It’s impossible to feel down while listening to that song.

The record with my favorite cover art is…

The best cover art of all time, because it’s totally open to interpretation, is of course, the Beatles White album!

The strangest LP I own is…

The London Symphony performing Jethro Tull‘s greatest hits!

The rarest LP I own is…

Johnny Cash‘s first album on Sun Records. He autographed it to me and sadly it was lost in the flood in August 2016.

The last LP I bought was…

A wonderful combination of Frank Sinatra and Count Basie! Love their collective soul!
