In My Vinyl Offering, we get up close and personal with your favorite musicians and friends to find out the most cherished parts of their record, CD or tape collection. This time around we feature the collection of Lindsay Schoolcraft.

Lindsay is a Juno Nominated, ethereal gothic metal solo artist from the small city of Oshawa, Canada. As a singer, harpist, and pianist she composes music inspired by her life experiences and the music that has heavily influenced her over the decades. Since 2010 she has released multiple singles and EPs and in 2019 she released her debut full length album “Martyr” which was a co-written by Rock Gray (Original Evanescence drummer).

From 2013-2020, Lindsay was the live keyboardist and backing vocalist for British extreme gothic heavy metal band Cradle of Filth.

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

“The first vinyl I ever bought was post high school and the album The Thirteenth Step by A Perfect Circle right when the vinyl resurgence started happening. I couldn’t pass up owning something by A Perfect Circle because they don’t print or release much. At the time that album was everything to me and though I don’t have a record player I felt like owning it in this format was very special.”

The record that made me want to make music was…

“This has happened many times over the span of my life but the two albums that really left a lasting affect on me where Angel by Dido and Play by Moby.”

The record I’ve played more than any other is…

“Probably Fallen by Evanescence.”

The record that always make me feel good is…

“Violet by The Birthday Massacre.”

The record I turn to when I’m feeling down is…

“The Open Door by Evanescence.”

The record with my favorite cover art is…

“Led Zeppelin III.”

The strangest LP I own is…

“A live compilation of Johnny Cash from his prison performances.”

The rarest record I own is…

“A 7” of Heart’s “Crazy on You”.”

The last LP I bought was…

“Kings and Queens by LEAH.”
